Kudos to You, Northeast!
Thought you guys would want to know. We got home safe, took some naps, are going to chill out in advance of our upcoming West Coast run next month, and quick trip to England and Holland in July. You’re all welcome to come to these, but you already did a FANTASTIC JOB at the shows last week, so I won’t make you get on planes. Such singing! Such dancing (I’m talking about you, but of course we were good too)! Such cell phone waving! Touring is hard, and gets harder the more years/kids/soccer schedules come into play, so we simply wouldn’t be doing it anymore if not for how amazing andinspirational you are on a nightly basis. I would hug every one of you if it weren’t impossible/liable to give me the flu. Thanks for coming, Thanks for buying a shirt or whatnot, thanks for pogoing, thanks for coming on Mondays and Tuesdays……you KICK ASS.
A NOTE ON THE VENUES:
Union Transfer is a gorgeous spanking new joint, and you Philly-ites are lucky to have them. Good luck Bowery guys! You are killing it!
Paradise, you are a second home, especially considering Chris’s history as a temp Boston guy. Getting Dana onstage for a Morphine tune brought chills.
Mohegan Sun, as weird as casinos are for rock bands, you provide a really interesting and good weird. Don’t let me gamble next time.
Stone Pony in NJ was a BUCKET LIST play for us, getting to stand in the very spot where Jon Bon Jovi did every week back when his hair was truly hilarious.
Irving Plaza, always great. The first time I went there I broke several small bones in my hand playing tambourine while “sitting in” with Kula Shaker in the ’90s. Really that’s the only thing that’s ever happened to me there that wasn’t great.
9:30…..those of us who remember battling the rats at the old location appreciate the world-class venue you are now. and you make CUPCAKES!
OK, see everyone soon in a year or two, and sign up for the friggen email list!
