PUSAFEST Appreciation Thread

Possibly a little late. Couldn’t be helped, I spent all day yesterday moaning and groaning. I’m not sure I needed that last bottle of wine after getting home Saturday night (Sunday morning of course, to be accurate).

So THANKS everyone who rocked it with us in PDX and SEA this weekend. We have plans for PUSAFEST, to make it a consistent yearly thing…and we’ll need you guys onboard to make it work.

SOOO

it was totally COOL and stuff…here is some photo evidence……these shots are by Brian Kasnyik and JIm Bennett….

THIS guy played with us both nights!

and that’s just the tip of the photographic iceberg. For starters…head over to Jim’s site where he’s got a gallery up from Friday. There’s also other galleries with some HOT SHOTS of People Eating People and Black Daisy. They were great, of course, as were the Amazing BOAT (who brought their “A” horn section on Saturday)…. Honorable mention and GOLD STAR for the weekend goes to Molly Lewis whocrushed Saturday’s crowd as you can sort of see from my on the youtubes.

so….CHIME IN HERE with opinions or complaints from PUSAFEST ’10 if you were there….

PDX will be good to the PUSA

Sometimes it’s the simple things. For instance…..you know when you wake up and the awesome hotel where you are staying has turntables and records in the rooms? And not just records but THESE TWO RECORDS? Yeah, that’s pretty much a guarantee you will be having an amazing gig that evening.

And in case you are wondering…..The awesome hotel in question is the Ace Hotel. You should stay at them whenever you are in Portland, or New York, or Palm Springs, or even Seattle.

PS…there are lots of other col records in the room: Fruitbats, St Vincent, a Motown collection and OMG a Kanye single featuring JAMIE FOXX!

UPDATE: turns out Andrews’ room had the 1st MONTROSE record in it. Probably one his top 5 all-time albums (Andrew, not Montrose). That explains why we shredded even MORE than I had predicted.

Free stuff alert!

HERE’S A GEM FROM THE VAULTS, as part of the nationwide ongoing celebrations and observations of PUSAFEST. Help yourselves to Rooftops in Spain, a B-side from the These Are The Good Times People sessions. It probably would have made the record had it been finished in time. The problem? Chris only had the chorus lyric, which was indeed written on a hotel rooftop in Spain. That’s a story in and of itself which Chris may favor us with here at some point. I will say only that it involves a festival in Gijon, El Vez, alcohol, and some very long travel days. And more alcohol. Believe it or not, Little Richard makes an appearance also.

But I digress….

Simply hit the magical button above, and in moments we will deliver to you a first-rate copy of the tune.

Las Vegas AGAIN?! WTF!

That’s right, we’ve done again! And by “we”, I mean our friends at KVGS who refuse to stop bringing us to Sin City! So here’s the poop:

Thursday,FEB 18 at the ‘new’ Hard Rock Cafe On The Strip (this is NOT the casino, it’s a new place, apparently on the strip).

It’s free! You just print your own ticket…Crazy! Print a ticket Here.

I don’t know how many tickets they are going to let people print, but you can be assured it will be many many more than they actually have room for. You should get to this early.

Good times, and as usual watch for us afterwards as we put our entire fee on ‘RED’.
